my tractor runs for short while and than dies any ideas also my pto can only be pulled up to activate if tractor is off grinds and wont go in while running

To troubleshoot the stalling issue, check the fuel path for clogged filters/screens. There's likely one in the tank, one in the sediment bowl, one or more in the banjo fittings.

PTO problem can likely be fixed with a clutch release adjustment.

Greg is right about checking the fuel path. It will involve removing the entire sediment bowl assembly from the tank. There is usually a screen on Chinese tractors up in there where it screws into the bottom of the tank. Also screens hidden in the fuel hoses through out. Remove them all and clean. Once reinstalled you must bleed the system. I would also replace the spin on fuel filter at this time if you have one.

As for the pto make sure you have the clutch in and let everything spin down. If you have a implement like a bush hog this can late 60 seconds or so.
