Shaver HD-8 Post Pounder help!!

Hey all! Hoping someone that has used a shaver post pounder or similar can chime in.

Recently bought one but the crank arms were seized. Got the crank arms working, and goes forward and back, but the side to side doesn't move, the crank just goes in and out.

My question as it seems common sense, in my photos, it looks like the round tube (circled in blue) in the adjustment bracket should rotate within the two collars (circled in yellow) at each end right?

I just want to confirm before I bring a torch to the collars to try and break them loose. I've already tried lubine them up, using some leverage while hitting the bracket with a sledgehammer, it hasn't budged even a hair. Whatmore there's no missing paint at the seams, like it's never been adjusted ever.

Uh-oh. Does you're not rotate either?!?!?

I got the rest of mine all loose and working, even pounded in a 4x4x8 just to test it. Fricken awesome. But gotta get the left/right to moved.

Yours has some different stuff going on. The crank looks to he on the opposite side and whats the long rod on the side??? Looks like maybe an extra hydraulic attachment?

Yes, it has the slide option. Back up to a post and I can slide the pounder away or closer to tractor as needed. Haven't used the pounder to much yet. It's been customized to go on a 3pt. Originally would have been mounted to side of a tractor. Very old. Serial number is to early to get exact information on it because company lost records in a fire.

Man, that's something. It will even drive crossties, with a pilot hole.
