Well, they had the roadster but Musk launched it into space. Don't think they ever built any production cars though.

They made production models of the original roadster for about three years. It was a Lotus chassis and body that Tesla elongated to fit the batteries. The original Lotus is very tightly packaged.

And seen at the end of the remake too, with Christina Applegate and Ed Helm (?)
Did they restore one for the remake movie? I don’t remember

I thought Tesla had a 2-seater in the early 2000s.

Damn, I know more about EVs than I should or want to.
The original Tesla car predates Musk. The original people who started Tesla used a Lotus car frame that they partnered with Lotus to get and put their BEV stuff into it. Lotus was well known for doing stuff like that as they are so small they can make these things work out for them. They didn't sell many as it was expensive and apparently not terribly reliable, but it became the launching pad for Elon to take over, push the original guy out and move it to where it is now.

TopGear UK actually did a test on the car. They had two of them and they kept breaking down.
But they were fast.

Sounds a lot like Bill Gates buying OS 86 from Seattle Computer for 25.000 dollar and becoming the worlds richest man, while SCP got in financial difficulties because Taiwan produced cheaper memory banks than them.

I never knew it wasnt Elons idea...

Chevy Chase had a role in the remake too. I don't know if they restored another car, or if it was
from the original movie. Quite a few references to the original.

To this day Top Gear's rendition of Jessica is my ring tone. They were great entertainment, but a lot of their reviews were fabricated BS. They went out of there way to fabricate running out of juice by starting out at partial charge & other issues on several electric cars.

it is "entertainment" after all.

But not all 1/2 tons are the same. My ‘13 F150 with HDPP has a heavier frame, heavier suspension, heavier shocks, LT tires and brakes that are almost as big as a 3/4. On top of that it has a CCC of 2592 lbs (more than some older 3/4’s) It tows my 8000 scale weight trailer just as well as a 3/4 and has more ccc than some current diesel 3/4’s

You know that door sticker has nothing to do with how much you can tow, right?

You need to look up the GCWR for your truck's configuration. It won't be in the Owner's Manual (they are just generic); you'll have to contact Ford for the info.

No matter what your CCC is, you can't legally exceed the GCWR for your vehicle.
GCW = truck curb weight + weight of all passengers in the truck + weight of all cargo in the truck (not just the bed, also anything under the seats etc.) + weight of trailer and its contents.
If this value is greater than GCWR then you are not legal (or safe).

Many people just look up the tow rating of their truck and go with that, but you need to use whichever is less between the tow rating and GCWR.

Geez... you make it sound like he needs to call Henry or Edsel, himself. :ROFLMAO:

Maybe you haven't heard, but Al Gore invented this thing called the "Internet". All kinds of great information there.

Ford has wiped their site of data that old, but it can still be found on third-party aggregators, like this one:
