With the big rounds in the front you would assume that there is a fair amount of weight in front of the axle, but closer look at the rear truck wheels and trailer tires shows he is tail heavy.

I didn't think it looks loaded wrong until he started loosing control. That's why I use Weigh Safe Hitchs. You can't always tell.

@duramaxsky I think the issue is the tilt deck trailer throwing weight and loading perception off. I suspect that trailer has very little tongue weight empty, and could potentially be squirrelly on a good day without a load.

My tilt deck has no tounge weight empty and rides horrible.

I had a homemade tandem axle that had the axles were just front and back of center; so perfectly balanced when empty you almost didn't need a tongue jack. I could load it to distribute the weight, but it pulled horrible empty.

Because Corvettes weigh the same front and rear axles it has to be all the way forward to get proper distribution. Doesn't matter if you load it forward or backwards either.

Unloaded my trailer leans back a bit. When it sits level i have tongue load. 9k lbs at 65mph is no problem with my Volvo, as long as its a low center of gravity like retaining wall blocks, and not a tractor. With tractors id rather keep below 6k and 55mph.

I love my Weigh Safe. I may not know how much the load is, but I know how much tongue weight I have. You can guess how much load weighs ballpark to do the tongue weight calculations.

It also protects the wimpy receiver on my 1500. It's only rated at 700 pounds without a WD hitch. I replaced the one that came on my 2500HD with a Curt rated at 2400 tounge weight with or without a WD hitch so it is just to be sure the trailer is loaded right to make it safe.

If he can figure out a way to secure them, all we have to do is take some of those rounds off of the back and put them on the front. He could even put them in the box of the pick up truck.
