Which previous post? It went on the road about 3 miles. The actual highway zero miles. I don稚 like to haul cut up wood. I壇 much rather throw or on my bigger truck in logs. That load on the ton truck was my dad痴 work. View attachment 665912
I can do that too on my 3/4 ton with timbrin helper spring never sags. I have loaded(with trailer) my little 3/4 ton to the point where I would have to use 4 low with it in lower gear to get started moving. If I could have found a nice 3/4 ton suburban would have gone that way. Liked my suburban. For the same reasons you do. Switched to a Chrysler mini van. You can get the 10 length of down spout in and not look stupid carrying it on my 26 deck over trailer. Which I have done.:) If I had to go down to one vehicle I would keep the van and pay somebody to deliver the block. needs also change as you get older.

I have never liked vans, delivered for a pharmacy in my mid teens, used a late 60's ford van, it was fun but very light rear ended, did a couple 360's on rainy days zipping on my rounds around town back then in it.

Im not sure why PUs do not seem light rear ended......

My personal vehicle all my life has been PUs and CJ's wives had had cars n SUVs

We had a CJ7 in the Family for a few years 79 I think. I found that the most useless and impractical vehicle they could possibly make. Terrible fuel economy and not enough room for a 24 of beer!

I too, hated driving vans for work. Especially when the bosses were L-Cheapo and ordered not an optional window in the thing.

I like CJ's, had a total of 3 different ones.

Loved em both summer n winter!

I guess the most beer I ever drink is a couple in the evening, so a case of beer isnt very important to me!

Photos - 1 of 1.jpegAbsolutely love the CJ/Wranglers! They are super maneuverable, excellent off road, and if you yank the back seat out fairly roomy for the small footprint. We take our Wrangler on vacation all the time and it is fun to drive, and yes, it gets about 17mpg, but hey, it is fun to drive!

Yea, with the top and doors off, they are like go-carts for the highways!

Do you mean that you actually use them as the off road vehicle they were designed for?

I can attest that pickups can be light in the rear, for years all that I drove was 2wd F150s which are completely useless in snow. My Rangers and now my Colorado are all the same way... useless on gravel hills until I lock in the front end.

Not as a hard core wheeler, I have a Honda Talon we use for that but we are very rural so streams, dirt, some snow, and gravel are par for the course. One thing I really like is I can back up into our gravel driveway with the Jeep in 2 wheel drive. The trucks always have be be in 4 wheel drive or they are digging holes.
