They probably have a prepass. It's a little box on the dash that communicates with the weigh station.As good a thread as any I guess ..... Are some commercial semis exempt from weigh stations?
I passed one today that was Open. Data scanners out over the roadway to read transponders, but all trucks were entering. Except this one typical 18 wheel tanker truck (nothing outwardly different) sailed right past the entrance. Marked units at the scale didn't come out after him. Unit too busy? Didn't notice him? Some signal via the data system to pass him? Maybe one of those special government loads that isn't supposed to stop anywhere?
We have one in each our semi's at work since our loads are pretty consistent.
If it flashes green while coming up to the station, they can keep going. If it flashes red, then they need to pull in for inspection.
