I was a distance away so getting a good shot was tough. It's hard to see, but the ball mount is bent. And the safety chains are neatly hung on the trailer:duh: I also don't see a cord for the trailer

The wheels are 8 lug so likely 7k axles, but the trailer doesn't appear to be built heavy enough for 14k?:confused3: Either way, those pallets are probably 2000-2500lbs (or more?) each and there's 7 of them. Plus the weight of the trailer.

What could go wrong? :thumbsup:

I don't know how you can tell the weight of the pallets, unless just guessing from the perceived trailer sag.

At any rate, I happen to be scrolling through the U-Haul website to figure out if I can haul my SCUT on one of their utility trailers. The 5x8 should carry it, but they list an empty weight of around 900 pounds. The SCUT lists at 1433, plus whatever the loaded tires add. I know it'll be over 2500 total and I'm just not sure I should try it with my 25 year old Taurus wagon with 125K on the clock.

That Taurus probably has more horsepower than a mid 1970's Toyota pickup,,,
I moved a John Deere 2020 on a John Deere planter trailer back in the early 1980's,, pulling it with the Toyota,,

The trailer was connected to the bumper ball,,, it worked because the trailer axle could be moved to suit the balance desired..

This is how you unloaded it,,, engage a stop in the wheels, loosen a chain that wrapped around the frame to hold the axle,, drive forward,,

If the Toyota could move the JD 2020 with loader (probably 9K pounds) on a 40 foot long trailer,, your Taurus can do it,,,

I pickup pallets of that stuff where they make it. The full pallets are 3000 to 3500 pounds. It sucks moving them to the front of the trailer with a pallet Jack. I dump the tractor air ride to make it slightly down hill. If you get too many of them at once you need to single the first 3 of they will overload the tractor drive axles. They are heavy. And that are 3 X 4 foot pallets so they look like they are side by side on there. They would fit like that. So 6000 to 7000 pounds for 4 feet of deck.

When it was new, it might have been worth a try. Knowing that the transmission is weak and that there are hills along the route, I don't feel it's worth the risks.

In India or such places they would just pack people on to the hood to level things up a bit. A few hanging onto the ramps would help too.

Oh and don't forget all the fancy and flashy curtains, carpets and random accessories all over the tow vehicle. :laughing:
