.... I would expect a strobe or I've even seen stop/turn light bar assemblies on large rear overhangs.

Is that a strobe beacon laying on the back seat? I wonder if it was on the back.

Looks like pulp wood and if so those trucks probably run there all the time. I also think it looks like a beacon in the back seat. Good thing he was leaned over!

Probably dropped the cell phone.

Seems likely that leaning down saved his life, but also caused the accident in the first place.
