It also looked like he may have mashed the truck tailgate with the bucket when the tongue broke off.

I think that was part of the break away system, long thin chains ok as bucket placed to drop into rear of tub and save the day...

I always loved those old cast couplers you would screw "perfectly" tight and then adjust a wing nut to lock it in place. No one has time for THAT anymore!

This one did not need that, you could have taken any parts inside coupler for retention out as it was not going to come off....plenty of downforce

I took this picture for fun, when selling this old trailer. Doesn't mean I was going to take it on the Interstate! OMG!!! He doesn't have it chained down! That's OK, the tires are loaded, it's not going anywhere!

Could he have moved the SS towards the back, more over the trailer tires? And then moved the mini ex back to allow its boom on the trailer tongue? Jon

Probably. The problem you might encounter is hitting the boom on the truck tailgate.

I saw this on FB. What do you think about the boom in the bed? The boom obviously isn’t chained like it’s supposed to be but it can’t swing into traffic. His trailer is probably overloaded and his chain down angles probably aren’t good but putting that aside with do you guys think?View attachment 599341

Why not back the skidsteer on first, then drive the mini-ex on and put the blade into the bucket?
Then rotate the house around and swing the boom to the side to make it shorter and set the bucket on the dovetail of the trailer.

I wasn't thinking. I should have tied it down with a bunjie cord or two. Maybe a skipping rope. Just to get people good and riled.
