Agreed you won稚 hurt the rear diff by pulling it. People pull driveshafts and pull with the rear diff on the ground all the time. I really don稚 understand why you can稚 leave the transmission in neutral and pull it but you can稚.

A manual transmission and transfer case are lubricated by the countershaft spinning, thereby splashing oil onto the input and output shafts and their respective gears and bearings. If they are in neutral and the engine is shut off, the counter shaft isn't spinning due to it being driven by the input shaft, so little to no lubrication is splashed up onto the input and output shafts. The output shaft can't spin the countershaft unless the transmission is in gear.

I haven't been into a automatic transmission so I don't know for fact but Fallon's description makes sense to me.

I disagree. Your problem is too much weight behind the axle and not enough tongue weight to hook up to the tractor. Or maybe that is your weigh (pun intended) of a self dumping trailer. LOL Jon

That was after unhooking the trailer. Have a couple that is older and no longer can do much from the husband having brain surgery and wife bad back. So they come with their truck to our woods to get wood. We just loaded the trailer as much as possible. Back their truck up to the trailer and load. Had a few other trailers to keep loading

The issue with the FWD id the central differential. The"spider" gear will be constantly spinning. I don't think they are designed to so.

Not sure. that's why I told my In-laws to specify what tree they wanted, and where they want the tree planted. The family can handle the particulars.
