Down on Mom's property there is a small, mostly seasonal creek that we spent a lot of time cleaning up...

It is very peaceful most of the time with a large boulder where you can hear the water tumbling over the 4' fall.

Often thought it would be a good place for my ashes... plus... maybe I can haunt those that use the creek and Mom's land for dumping trash... I think that would be a good way to spend eternity... plus our favorite dog is buried under a grove of Redwoods we planted.

There's a service now that my in-laws are interested in doing when they pass. Have them cremated. Ship the ashes to this company. They mix the ashes with potting soil and fertilizer. Add to a pot with the tree you want. Then ship back to the family to be planted.

I told my father in law to just spell it out and specify which tree. We don't need to ship him off to someone else to have that done, when we could do that ourselves.
My dad has informed me & my brother that he doesnt care what happens as he'll be dead. It will be our problem to deal with.

It's a good conversation to have with your parents or kids. Makes life nicer for the survivors.

I'd find it freaking hilarious to get carted around on a flatbed after I died.

A funeral is for the living. The time to spend time with somebody is before they die. I personally don't give two shakes what happens to my body when I'm done with it. I'm listed as an organ donor, once they take what somebody can use they will probably incinerate what's left.

Oh, that sounds very peaceful.

Way back last century my then wife worked for an aero club and often people would charter a plane to scatter some ashes over an island. Often, when it was raining, they had to discretely escort the client out of the way while they washed the ashes off the tailplane.

In Washington State we have a large State run Vehicle Ferry system. Every now and then the Ferry stops midway and the family has ashes dumped over the side. It is all official and a way to get a lot of unwitting people to come to the service. Just do not stand downwind. :duh::duh::duh:

Actually they use a biodegradable urn that disolves when it comes in contact with the water. :D
