A few years back I hauled a bunch of roast beef to a fund-raising dinner in the trunk of my Corolla. A substantial quantity of beef juice spilled into the trunk carpeting. A few days later it started to stink like something died in there. I was surprised (and pleased!) that the smell did eventually go away.

My Dad always drove up here from the City with a Rich old Lady in her Riviera (sp?). Use her gas and car! Then pick up a jerry can of dyed diesel from me, to use in his Sprinter back home. Anyway, the Jerry can fell over in the trunk!

I was tasked to pickup Chinese for a owner/investor meeting at work... many party trays were ordered and only about two blocks from work.

I put one on the right seat of my car and the aluminum pan had a leak where the corner was crease-formed...

It made a mess... leaked through the seat and onto the carpet in the back seat.

Taking a wet rag I was cleaning in-between the backrest and seat cushion and snap the tendon in my finger... it has never been the same... and really curtailed my home building projects... I would think nothing of mixing up a yard of concrete and setting it... simply screws up my finger/hand when I try to do this kind of work today...

Never broke anything in my life and then snap a tendon on something so simple... and it happened on the job... didn't make any difference.

Forgot to get a package of ground beef out of the back seat of the wife"s Chevy Malibu. It was her work car and a Friday in the summer. She didn't drive it to work Monday. It became my car real fast and not sure I ever really did get the smell out. (I have no sense of taste or smell) Eventually sold it sooner than I wanted too. Wife would never ride in it again. Most expensive 4 lbs of ground beef I ever bought!

When my buddy decided to clean out his work truck to sell which was a less than 10 year old pretty slick ford he pulled the seat out and the rubber floor liner out and pressure washed them. I have to say it worked pretty good and did a better job than you’d ever accomplish with others methods

That is the only way that ever worked for me. Just take out the seat, rip out the carpet (replace) and wash with a strong detergent like Dawn for dishes and steaming hot water. Then saturate with spray Lysol and I've removed some pretty nasty smells. It does work.

My SIL used my mom's Lexus while they were on vacation. Left sunroof open. Bailing and shop vac got the couple inches of water out. few trips to the shop never fully got the musty/moldy smell out of the car. She finally traded it in.
