You gotta be kidding me  wonder how it handles on frost heaves. :confused2:

Just using rough numbers, assuming the wheel is 3" diameter, it is making a complete rotation 6,740 times per mile. I wonder how long the bearing/bushing will last?

Probably just until it doesn't.

I got behind a pickup today towing a tandem axle trailer with 4 pallets of asphalt roofing shingles, and lumber stacked alongside. The right rear tire was gone, and he was limping along on the rim. I don't know where he was going, I followed him for about a mile before turning off and he was still pulling. It wasn't really a hazard per se, just hard on the rigging. (And a PITA to get behind.)

Saw this today. Popped the pic while stopped at a light.

Followed him about a mile. He almost lost it twice when hitting bumps.

That stuff is not heavy and could be fairly slippery. Crazy. I assume you weren't following him close!

I wasn't. Half way down the strip he jumped into the other lane. I still held back and kept him a few car lengths ahead of me. He had someone tailgating him though. I kept waiting for one of the bags let loose and hit the tailgater.

Not very far. We had a similar wheel on a hitch carrier behind a Ranger since it was prone to dragging. It didn’t survive a couple mile trip rolling the whole way. It’s almost like plastic swivel wheels aren’t meant for 45mph service. Ours was actually a nicer urethane wheel with bearings.

Should have used a decent tweel caster.
