Did they actually have to carry it down the stairs and try it to see that it wouldn't fit?

That was scary, but also on that page were these:

That's because they were driving on the wrong side of the road. If they had been driving on the right side it would have been flying away from them.

No pictures but I saw the damage and it made the newspapers.

Lady down the street was on her way to work North bound and a South bound trailer lost a wheel... the wheel went over the freeway median and crashed through her windshield... debate on whether to total the car or not as a portion of the roof caved... she was OK except for cuts from glass on her hands/wrist.

Glad to hear she came out well. Often it goes badly.

Think I used enough trailer for the load at hand? That’s my 10 ton trailer with a refrigerator strapped down with two 2” ratchet straps.

Needs a front to back strap, blocks nailed to the deck, and I bet you didn't measure the height. You could have taken the door off, and the racks and drawers out, to reduce the weight a bit.
