What about the pickup bed tanks on construction sites?

Tanks in truck beds, as designed, are more protected. And also normally only carry diesel fuel. Ive never seen gasoline on a construction site in anything other than 5 gallon or smaller cans. The explosive aspect of gas is a much higher risk...

Once you hit 110 gallons of capacity, hazmat/tanker/CDL things come into play... Which is why most bed tanks max at 105 gallons. Put in 2, not legal in the eye of DOT. Beware...

I use the OEM 36 fuel tank in my truck to fuel small equipment on the job...

30 years now and it works well at 2 gallons per minute... my truck is the last with a carburetor so putting in a 3-way valve valve was no problem.

Years ago I worked in a fab shop and one of the services offered was custom fuel tanks for RV's

We built some big ones that supplemented OEM...

I would have to imagine those Winnebagos exceeded 105 gallons going down the road.

It was quite a shop in that it could Fab just about anything back in the days when the Bay Area was a hub of manufacturing... my projects where mostly Space Shuttle.

They come down on people hard for that sort of thing in my part of the state. There's probably a tag or sticker on the tank with the regulations, so you won't be able to claim you didn't know.

Agreed. I'll do lots of things and readily take calculated risks but won't haul gasoline like that. Lot's of things can go wrong including nothing but static. Then boom; fireball.

Didnt get a pic, tonight saw a tractor on a trailer, with rotary cutter on back of tractor, just barely hanging on the trailer.
On top of the rotary mower was an ATV, hanging of the back of the mower..

Was coming back from Winco this afternoon, in the left hand lane stopped at a light. Beside me was a pickup with a 15-16 foot fiberglass boat on a trailer. Light changed and I heard something making a 'scritch-scritch' sound, trailer tire was wobbling like it had a 4" bend in it, or about to come off. I turned left immediately after, doubt he made it much further.

Found this with no explanation.

Looks like he snagged the guywire between poles. Fortunate that he wasn't high enough to touch the powerlines, those look like the high voltage variety.
