Some care about looks, others dont.

There's some irony in that statement. Guys with big Heavy Duty series pickups that never get used as such must think they look cool, but most of us just think they look like posers.

My friends 4 year old yelled through the open window about a guy in a pickup with open pipe at the traffic lights next to them "Look pa, that guy has a small wiener !" Guy sat there waiting for a green light with a **** eating grin

Oh that looks painful. I hope he was okay. Too steep on the ramps, should have found a snowbank to back up to the lessen the angle.

We always just dropped the tailgate and backed into a snow bank to load a snowmobile.

I have a half ton crew cab short box. Bed gets used for hauling smaller items when needed.

Any large items, I load it onto my 16ft trailer. Trailers a dove tail, with a ramp that covers the width of the trailer.

It's much easier wheeling heavier items up the ramp with a dolly versus struggling to get it in the bed of the truck.

Plus, I usually don't have help unloading whatever it is once I get home.

This is exactly the same system I have. 1/2 ton crew cab with heavy-duty rear springs + 7000 GTWR trailer with 16' closed-side box and ramp. Way easier picking up 12' or 16' lumber in that trailer, than in any pickup, even a "long bed". Plus, I use the trailer for hauling firewood, and mounted a winch on the front for fast retrieval of logs, rather than heaving rounds into a stupid pickup bed. I haul maybe 10 loads of logs per winter, from various sites to my house.

Trailer is also a great way to move your tractor, either for work or repair.

I probably should run a weight-distributing hitch, but so far haven't bothered, as all my heavier hauling is real local.

Mines almost identical except it has the dove tail. 7,000lb gvwr as well. I haven't attached a winch to mine though.

Got it about 10 years ago. Won't ever get rid of it, unless it rusts out.

Arkansas has permanent trailer tags. So all the trailer costs me is $10 a year in personal property tax.
