Trailers have their place but when going long distances and/or on rough roads can be a pita... especially for something as easy as a ladder to throw on a properly equipped roof.
Trailers are great for bulk and weight, but they can be a pain to pull. I put about 6000 miles on mine this past summer hauling a household, hobby ranch and hay over the mountains.

I really like the SnowBear trailer. I looked just now to see if they are still sold. Apparently not. Found someone who posted he loads his 2k rated SnowBear to 3K with no problems. Don't be that guy.
I was at my employers one Saturday after hours loading some gravel with a wheel loader, My wife was directing me to get the load in the center of the trailer. I started dumping watching her, then looked at the tires and stopped. I raised the bucket and she kept trying to get me to dump more in, "You've got all kinds of room left in the trailer." It was already about #500 over. :p

(I tared in, weighed out, and paid for it on Monday.)

Yeah. The gravel place here has a half-yard capacity bucket loader. After the first dump into the little SnowBear they wanted to add a second 3/4 ton. No thanks!

Just rev it up to redline and dump the clutch.

It'll come right off of there.
