Service Manual?

Well, my 4310 is at the shop to look at the small reverse hydro problem I'm having. The service mangr. said that the tech will be reprogramming it, and that it's is covered in the service manual and was covered in a tech buletin. Should I and can I get a shop service manual that will describe this stuff? I would love to be able to do some simple stuff myself instead of losing it to the dealer for a week. $$?

Have your model & Serial number handy. I bought one for my JD garden tractor (since sold). Hopefully they are cheaper than the New Holland manuals.

Thanks hazmat, ordered it. it was not cheap at $140, but if it saves just one trip to the dealer it pays for itself.

I would recommend you get a parts manual also if they offer it. It is a little cheaper than the service manual, at least mine was. For my 950, it shows every part on the tractor in exploded views and gives the JD part number for each. It shows every nut, washer, gasket, seal, etc. It is a great help to the service manual in seeing how every thing comes apart and goes together. My service manual was $76 and the parts manual was $38.

Why buy when it is free? I liked being able to print the page of the web & take it out to the garage. Get it nice & dirty & throw it away.

Now, If you have to fight your teenage daughter off the phone to get to the web based parts manual, that's another story....

The parts manual was handy as a geometric reference point. The service manual didn't have alot of pictures, mostly text.

I did not know it was available on the web. Surprising it would be there for free. What is the link to it?
Of course my tractor and acreage is 30 miles from my house and I don't have a computer or phone line there anyway. I am sure if I printed a page and went there to work on my tractor, I would immediately find I also needed the next page also. /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif
