"A mud dauber looks like a hornet"

Well, they are both vespids but not much more in common. Mud dubbers are a solitary wasp. They rarely bother humans directly but seem to take great pride in covering and filling everything I have with mud. Hornets are not solitary, as many have found out when you disturb their nest. They also make their nests from paper, not mud. J
