I built a 8 x 10 wooden shed about a year ago. The shed was built over a 6" concrete pad, and came out very nicely. Living in Louisiana, I have become concerned over what a hurricane might do to the shed. Any ideas concerning how I might secure the shed to the concrete pad??

Thanks for your ideas.

You might try some metal strapping and some concrete anchors. Does the building set even with the outside periphery of the pad? You can get anchors that shoot into the concrete or maybe some screw in anchors that screw into the ground next to the pad like they use to secure mobile homes to the ground. Of course I guess all of your options might have limitations as far as the wind load that they'll withstand.

I ran a steel cable from the anchor up through the floor plates, up to the top of the wall, across the roof and then down the other side, out to the other corner anchor. Front and back of the shed. Drill holes and rout your cable so it will hold the whole shed down.
