Seating new tires on rims

well.. I have the unfortunate experience the other day of driving the tractor-- and having the tire let loose..

Just so happens, the valve stem got ripped..

So to make a long story short--
I got a new one from tractor supply, and put it in and used the rachet strap to make it seat...

The bad part is, there is something in the tire.. I was able to get a flex grabber on it.. BUT could not get it out..
It kinda looked like a complete valve core that got dropped into the tire...

I guess once our WNC snow is gone I will take the tire somewhere and get it fixed.......

or should I even worry?

Later,
J

A floating around tire valve will never cause damage to that tire during its lifetime. I wouldn't waste my time taking it out.

Really?
Even if it is the entire valve?
that is what I think I saw..
I did not see anything shiny, so I think it even had the cap on it...

I am kinda surprised...

We are talking about a piece of rubber floating around inside of a tractor tire right? So what harm is this going to do to the inside of your tire. It is not like you are going down the highway doing 75 mph.

Before I put the valve stem guards on my front wheels, I used to keep a spare valve stem inside each tire so I would always have one. Using mine in the woods making trails is very bad on the stems.

A buddy that works at a car dealership told me one of the techs was having trouble getting a bead seated. Another tech suggested using lighter fluid. Problem is he didn't know how to do it. He poured lighter fluid around the bead rather than in the valve stem. When hit ignited the fluid all he accomplished was setting the tire on fire.

When done properly it does work, but it really is a dangerous practice.

My son and I have made a few spud gun. We have also made more recently air cannons.they are a hoot.

In my spud-gun hobby, the pressures created by ether, methane and butane is only around 60 psi, and that's in a much smaller chamber with the same amount of fuel.

They are homemade. Made with a threaded iron nipple. I welded it to the rim and I screw the cap to the end of it. I cut the nipple short enough so I can air them up. I used one nipple for the two tires.
