Just got the brand new 5030 and want to put a protective seat cover on it. I did a search and found nothing. Does anyone know of cordura, nylon or neoprene washable seat covers for these?

Thanx

Anyone?

I figure I'll just make some ... neoprene was something like $9 a yard at the fabric store (so not prohibitive if you or someone you know can run a sewing machine). I'd guess cordura or similar would be around the same or cheaper.

... of course a couple of burlap sacks + twine (with perphaps a plastic sack sandwiched inside?), would get the job done too /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Not sure how to handle the "pocket" on the back yet tho.

I think keeping the UV exposure down somewhat as well as the abrasion from dirt could help extend the stock seats quite a bit.

BTW, http://www.wetokole.com/ could probably make some decent ones up (from dimensions and pictures) ... if you have to ask how much, you probably can't afford it tho /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

since you can't find one off the shelf have you checked with a canvas repair shop? around here we have several that do custom awnings, tent repair, boat covers and such.
they most likely could make one out of scrap material. just a thought

The Cordura would be nice, but I would like to try some simple slip on covers made of DuPont CoolMax fabric. Don't know how durable it would be used in a seating situation but is sure does help keep a person cool used under motorcycle helmets. If it doesn't cost much, some simple elastic covers could be made up (if You know someone who sews) and once You have a pattern just make several sets. The CoolMax fabric is machine washable. I think if I had to park My tractor outside I would make a cover for the seat out of an old cut down plastic trash can, planter, Rubbermaid/Tupperware tote or something as this would protect from sun, rain, leaves ect. I do park one of My mowers outside and use a womens shower cap to protect exposed PTO shaft splined end.

Another "fabric" that works real well for covers is "house wrap" (aka tyvek) ... it's breathable, fairly tough, and not too expensive.
