But considering the limitations of operating conditions is not an odd way to choose a machine.
Jeeze louise, I never said that!

You are entitled to your opinions but the indicated slopes do not lend themselves to a zeroturn mower in my opinion.

His "indicated slope" (25 DEGREES) would not lend itself to a z-turn, or to anything other than a Ventrac, Steiner, or possibly a billy-goat. I was pretty much assuming he had misstated the slope. Turns out, he did. Felt it was important to establish that, before further recommendations were made.

I know it is a luxury but having a dedicated mower and tractor is the way to go if you can swing it.

When we first moved to our current home, I mowed with a Deere 4400 tractor and 72" finishing mower. It was just taking way too long to mow and there was a lot of trimming necessary with a walk behind mower. Also, the 72" RFM was too wide...it tended to span depressions and scalp.
I bought a used Z920....does a better job, faster and pretty much eliminated any need for a walk behind mower.
I reckon I'm one of the luckier guys, having both a tractor (now a cabbed Deere 4520) and a zero turn mower

Hi folks,
I didn't know this would open up such debate.

To clarify, my lawn is 25 - 30 degrees (not percent of grade) degrees, like flat is 0 and straight up is 90.

I currently mow with a 46" Simplicity ZTR1500 and it can now straight up/down or side mow. Given the size of the deck as well as the fact that it only runs at about 4.5mph on flat ground, it would seem that the SCUT may actually save me some time. The post was less about saving ng time and more about finding one more selling point for the SCUT.
