I have recently added to my small list of equipment that was one Bobcat 610 that I have for snow removal at my home and business, hobby landscaping, and for the forks that are very handy for just about everything. A tornado at our cabin on 20 acres of large old growth forest 2 hours north left around 600 trees broken, bent , or up rooted right through the center of the property. A real heart breaker as we protect the natural beauty as best we can and have cross country ski and walking trails throughout. So I have purchased a second 610, and put chains on all 4 tires. A tough little skid steer that has taken all kinds of punishment without fail, and a John Deere 350b crawler loader with a Case backhoe attachment. What I would love is a mid sized 4x4 tractor but the budget just is not there, so I by vintage and restore and repair. I am shopping for a grapple for the 610 for moving branches and smaller logs. We have been cutting the Aspen, Birch and smaller spruce into 6' lengths so that the Bobcat can bring them out on any of the trails. The crawler is for skidding out the large diameter spruce that I am selling to a local log cabin builder and, for pushing/pulling over the half broken and bent over trees. I just recently purchased a winch and log arch for it, removed the backhoe for the winter and installed the winch/arch and, now I am ready for the upcoming "lumberjack Weekends" where I convince my buddies that beer and steaks in the evenings is a good trade for 2 days of running chainsaws, pulling logs and cleaning up branches.
I discovered this site just browsing the net for articles on 610's and so I signed on, happy to get the information available in huge amounts on this site and, hopefully be able to contribute as I am a decent hobby mechanic with lots of experience with my own stuff and a long time ago, farm background.
