Scotch Bottom Plow Points

Hi

I broke a plow point on my 3 furrow plow. I am told the plow is a John Deere model 416A of unkown vintage and that the point is a "Scotch Bottom" plow point type (?) with "DEERE BCA 484" stamped on back. There are two holes for fitting it to the plow. JD no longer stocks these items so I am hoping for info on either a breaking yard or someplace that may still have these old parts in stock within the eastern Ontario, northern NY area.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I hate to discourage you, but best of luck with that'n! They weren't terribly popular back in the day. I haven't seen a scotch bottom plow in decades. (Great plow bottoms for turning heavy sod)

416A Deere plows generally use "HSS" bottoms, which are available, but not as plentiful as they once were. I used a 3-bottom 416A plow for years. I sold it 3 years ago after exhausting my supply of spare parts. I was able to find a limited number of shares and moldboards through Valu-Bilt. New landslides are all but non-existant.
