Tractor
Kubota BX24, Kubota L260
Hi all,

Newbie here looking for a new compact TLB.

Leaning toward the sc2450 after looking around a little. It is alot more tractor than the Mahindra 1816 for the price, and alot better price than the JD's and Kubotas.

Anything else I should consider?

You're not really comparing apples to apples. Try comparing the cub 2450 to say a Mahindra 2415. One thing I do like about Mahindra is a heavier tractor and greater lift capacity in the front end loader. Just my 2 cents

The real apples to apples are BX, JD, Massy, and NH I believe all make sub compacts.

A couple of nice things are Shift on the fly (high to low range and back) the steering system that Cub/yamar uses.

I'm pretty sure Cub is the only manufacturer with the shift-on-the-fly setup. Works pretty nice!

Inky.....you'll like that Sc2450. I bought mine and took ownership of it last November. Before the snows fell I got to use the front loader and the back hoe. The latter takes some getting used to, unless you're familiar with back hoes. I bought mine with the steel cab, work lights, 2-speed heater, 45" hydralic snowblower, hydraulic chute control. My wife kids me and says that I need to install one of those overhead stereo units in it next. :)

I do have one question though regarding the "locking differential" on this unit...I'm wondering if the differential locks the same way on the SC2400? Do y'all have a pedal that you keep your foot planted on? Man, I just can't feel that thing activating. Guess I'll have to hit up the sales dude again....sure wish it would stay in lock after lifting the foot.

I'm pretty sure you have to keep your foot on it. That's how I've used mine anyway. I've noticed that it works as I've spun a few times in the grass when it's wet and pushing the dif lock lever down, I've noticed it locked the rear wheels.
