I've been wanting to mount an ammo box to the yield sign mount for tool use, myself.

Do you mind if i ask how many hours you have on your machine now?
And whether you have experienced any problems thus far with the tractor itself?

Seems like you put the most seat time in of the members that own one.

I have 790 hrs on it now I had 185 about this time last year or there abouts
hoping to put over 1200 on it this year
My tractor is my idea of vocational rehabilitaion I have quite a few modifications we have done to it. I put a cheap suspension seat in it raised it up 3 inches moved it back 4 inches. We changed it to a left foot drive but then I had problems with the right leg (my bad one) falling asleep so switched it back to right side (Dr. says its the best thing I did!! He thinks its been more theraputic than physical therapy and exercise because it always has to be putting just a little pressure on things)
but a warning move the seat up that high ALWAYS put on the seat belt!!!!
YOU never know when your going to be launched into the air
the tractor has been great
mid mount mower has been ok had the angle drive go out (parts not available) somebody forgot to put a snap ring inside it to hold a bearing up.
Ordered a new one took the old one apart ordered seal thru a local machine shop not a common seal so took some time up a snap-ring on the bearing now have a spare gear box.
put in a belt when gear box went bad as it was all oil soaked changed the blades (those were my fault) don't mow in water for very long although cool on a very wet day just because you can don't mean you should!!

forgot to say it hit the 60s here today for the first time so tomorrow have to go out and knock some ruts out and scariface some roads for a couple people to get them to dry out.
then should be some tilling and mowing in about a month

Well not exactly retired had a knee shattered at work and after 5 surgeries and the options offered to me by the good folks at workers comp, they offered to retrain me as a telephone sales representative (I think that translates to telemarketer) or a convienence store clerk (hard to believe but they offer 6 month classes at a jr college for those jobs) I decided I could make more in 15 hrs a week on this than I could working full time at those jobs.
So I dumped a good part of my retirement plan into the tractor and some equipment to haul it around got me a couple contracts to mow some large acraage and decided if all I can work is part time I am going to try and make some money while doing it and have fun.
Needless to say the golks at workers comp are not happy with me but I could give a rip. there scam is by law if they retrain you, you work at a job for a year all they have to do is make that pay up to 40 hrs a week. They are more than happy to get you a job that keeps you in poverty as they didn't spend a lot to do it, the retraining was sucessful as all get out as you know have a new vocation, and they only have to pay you a partial settlement based on minimun wage because as a part timer in either job your never going to get paid more and they were a success.

believe it or not the people at Social Security are easy to get along with on a disablility compared to the good folks at work comp.

heck I just got a 4th Dr opinion from them on my knee to make sure my knee problems are not being caused by a back injury from 30 yrs ago

And on the plus side my DR says driving the tractor is doing me more good than physical theraphy and an exercise program as having to use the right foot with a little pressure on it all the time is doing more than lifting weights and exercise ever did so I figure everyone is a winner
I get to enjoy what I do the government wont have to take care of me completely and I still can feel like I do something useful
now if only I can do something about this $4.15 fuel price it kind of knocks the crap out of driving around and mowing grass for a living

Wow, sorry to hear that story. I've had both knees done, but nothing shattered.....ouch. Interesting you're making more doing fun stuff than what they offered...good for you! I might have to look into something like that, I'm getting pretty fed up with my job. You do the mowing with the belly mower, or have a bush hog or rear finish mower?

good luck with it!!

I mow with the mid mount finish mower but usually take the high lift mulching or recut blades off and just use a flat blade (most of what I mow is prairie grasses) use the tractor for most as its all extremly steep and try and attach it all straight on
also have an old john deere F725 that I use on the two parks I do they also are kind of a prairie grass although for the holidays and the two special weekends that the wildlife club has things at the park I put on the lift blades it slows the speed but looks better and the extra couple hours it takes they seem to appreciate the effort
I tryed an out front 4 wheel drive but the ditches are too steep and I kept getting hung up the mower deck would not lift high enough to mow decent going up and down those steep ditches
but yeh much more fun than being a telemarketer

I have the non-commerical one now, but after many problems and complaing CC is replacing mine with this one as well.

thanks for the post, I am hoping this one will actualy blow snow versus mine that fell apart after 25hrs of service.
