Satoh pump

I have a S650G Satoh and after changing a leaking hose I fired her up and nothing. I am hoping it is not the hydraulic pump but everything else checks out. any thoughts?

Check and see if you have lost prime.

If you think you have air in the hyd system, purge it by cycling the cyl's about 5 times.

JJ, I have tried charging the system as well as loosening hoses to bleed but when the hose nearest the outlet of the pump was removed there was nothing. Do you think this could be a broken pump?

First, try adding air to the reservoir to help push fluid into the pump for priming.

Yes, the pump shaft could be twisted off. Remove the pump and inspect.

Thanks JJ. I have ordered a new one before I take it off just in case. I just don't want to be without it for much longer. I also have a 1954 Fordson Major with blown hydraulic pump seals, so that one is at a standstill at the moment as well.
