I recently had tractor in for service. One of the things they did was steam clean the frame and put on a shifter boot (there was lots of oil caked up in this area). Today I used tractor for the first real work since I got it back and noticed oil leaking from around the oil fill cap. See the attached pic.

Not blaming the service company - this problem had been occurring before obviously I just couldn't tell from where the leak was coming.

Do I just need to replace the oil fill cap? Or is this indicative of another (larger) problem. Thanks!

Might just need a seal, or it is possible the gear box is overfilled.

Is there a vent on that case? Maybe stopped up & building up pressure.

There should be and "O" ring in the fill cap but if the transmission is too full the oil will come out somewhere. There is a plug on the left side of the transmission about the same level as the foot rest that indicates proper fill level. See attached diagram.
