Can I say, Told you so?
Good news on tranny,
As to rear end, It will be like the proverbial s--t house so I would not go there.
Brakes, now that's worth checking.
The 3-point hydraulics seem to be rather complicated so were it me I avoid going there unless is known to be defective

Got the starter in and enlarged the mounting holes. It is a pretty big starter so that is promising for the life expectancy.
I was unable to get the final gear cover with the hydraulic 3pnt removed. There is a piece of hex sticking out in the center of the cover. Looks like an Allen wrench piece. It goes thru the tool box under the seat. Anybody knows what it is for?

Thanks J

Since I did not have an original starter I had to modify the aluminum head to make it work with the studs. I measured that the studs in the satoh are on the centerline. I moved the holes in the dodge starter and had to grind / mill some aluminum out of the housing to be able to put a M10x1.25 nut on. All worked out.
Took the head of and was happy I did. Looked like half a birds nest was inside. Strange but the air filter cartridge was missing so who knows waht can happen in 5 years in the field.
There was some corrosion on the cylinder wall. I was able to scrape it of and use 600 sandpaper to locally put a crosshatch back in and at the same time clean the walls.
The valves in the cylinder head looked new and there was no play in the valve guides.
The valve seat were all pitted. Used a valve grinder to clean it up. One exhaust valve seat had some clear problem and there was a good amount of soot on the valve. The valve looked new so I think this was a problem of factory?

Tomorrow or in the weekend I will put the head back on and see if she wants to fire.
Still haven't gotten a peak into the rear end / final drive / hydraulics.
Got new 9MM balls for the shifter mechanism. At least it moves again. Funny enough the clutch is working, would have expected that to be frozen. Lucky me.

Two post earlier I attached a pdf image of the transmission. Did not hear anybody about it. Please let me know if it does not open or work.

Later J
