I recently purchased a ym2000 and found out unexpectedly that it will try to crank in gear. This seems to me to be an accident waiting to happen. I remember from reading old post that sometimes when someone was having trouble with their tractor not turning over that one suggestion was to check the switch mounted on the clutch pedal. (American sold Yanmars) My question is can this type device be easily installed on the greys? Thanks for any info.

I'm sure it would be easy. It's just a switch on an angle bracket. If you want, I can look up where it goes in the wiring harness. Another place you will see the same switch is under the seat so you have to be sitting on the tractor to crank it.

My YM2000B has a safety switch mounted under the clutch pedal. Of course that is a little later model than the 2000. Could it be there and just out of adjustment?
