that reminds me of a while back i saw an outfit making shoes out of car tire tread for the bottoms. bet that is some tought stuff!

I did something like that to a pair of Grebs years ago. Grebs are a good boot but very slippery (at least the old pink sole ones). I took an ATV knobby tire and used contact cement and screws to attach a layer of traction. The were a little heavy but traction was awesome.:thumbsup:

During winter I added studs to the knobs; I could move trailers and air compressors around the rental yard when a truck couldn't! Don't wear them in the house though.:laughing:

i saw a guy do that to a big pair of husky boots that had the thick yellow soles. he used short sheet metal screws and put 5 across the front in a pattern and 5 on t he heel.. suposedle worded out real good for him.. he worked on cured, but wet semi-polished concrete lot and it was slippery..
