Sad Task for PT1845

Overnight last night, my daughter's old event horse died in the barn at age 25. She'd had various ailments and was under a Vet's care, but succumbed. So, with the 1845 5' boom we moved her around and out the door without tearing out the wall. Then, it took about three hours to dig a 9' x 6' by 6' deep grave with the Lackender hoe, drag her in and backfill with the light bucket. The horse leaves us with a couple of her sons, a bunch of ribbons and trophies and a lot of memories. And, she'd had 7 years or so of pleasant retirement. So hoist a glass to an old campaigner, and a task that I'll bet they didn't think of in Tazewell when they designed the 1845.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's horse.

From the few horse owners I know, they all dread the task of burying such a large loved one. Most of them hire out a backhoe, or know a friend with one that will do it for free.

It is hard to lose an old family friend like that. My heart goes out to you. Condolences.
