John Deere S130
I recently bought a John Deere S-130. I only have 5 hours on the machine. It runs and cuts great. My problem is not the machine. My problem is the operator. Me. I study the operator's manual. I try to be conscientious. Oh well. So I finished cutting yesterday. I turned off the machine, removed the key and parked the machine as I wanted to clean the underside of the deck. I went and got my scrapper. When I returned, the mower would not start. I noticed the fuel gauge flashing. I thought - OK, I ran out of gas. So I added gas. It still didn't start. I tested the charge on the battery. 97%. The manual indicates 30 minutes of fuel remaining when it flashes. I don't know how long it had been flashing. It may have been flashing for 30 minutes. I wasn't paying attention. I noticed that I could not see any gas in the fuel filter. I think I remember a few days ago noticing that I could see fuel in the filter. I assume there should be fuel in the filter. Can fuel be manually added to the filter? I don't have a clue what I'm doing. Obviously. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot, and hopefully fix, the problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Does the engine turn over when you try to start it? If not, it is likely the switch for the brake pedal isn’t being engaged.
