I found a brand new Ryobi gas Sawzall 5 miles from me.
“Brand New, Has never had gas in it” they said.
Asking price $275.
I explained the issue that parts are no longer available, it’s 25+ years old and although never used, it may not run.
I offered $200 and they accepted. Even has the allen key blade change tool and the lanyard for it.
Told them I might be able to get it today.

I'm assuming this is a prank as I've never seen such a thing. Although we did have gas powered drills when I was doing arboriculture work almost 40 years ago. With today's battery tools, I can't imagine why someone would want a gas-powered tool of such, other than as a curio.

MIn thing needed would be fuel lines! When you get it, post what engine make is on it. Could be something that has parts available, just not through Ryobi.

I think Tanaka makes a lot of these small gas engines.

Oh no, it’s 100% real.
I already have the Ryobi gas hammer drill.
It runs, drills and hammers quite well.

They built a recip saw, a hammer drill, and one other gas powered tool, I believe.

Saw that on FBM in Wilmington. Some tools come and go without becoming well known. Back in 1970 I worked for a small contractor who bought an Atlas Copco gas-powered jackhammer. They're still in business but I've never seen another one being used.

I have the same model Ryobi gas recip saw that I bought in the late 1980s, I think, from a close-out tool catalog.

Used it around the barn to make some repairs to the rough oak framing because didn't have any power at the barn and didn't own a generator at the time. Back then, there weren't that many cordless recip saws to choose from.

What I remember is that it worked, but was fairly heavy compared to any electric recip saw. Still have mine in the original box.

While you could put any length recip blade you want on it, I don't remember mine being a particularly fast cutting saw, at least through full dimension oak sawmill lumber.
