RV Inventories?

I have a good friend in Russelville KY.
The 100th anniv scout parade in DC is this sunday. I'm not going, but some of our scouts will be there. Also the national Jamboree is going on right now at Ft AP Hill in VA.

Regarding campers, etc.. my wife saw a popup with AC, so she wants one with AC. We have always tent camped, have considered a towbehind camper, but maybe we will get a popup. So far I haven't seen any deals that outstanding, and with a camper, I don't want a used one.

My BIL/SIL got a new pop up like your are talking about because he said some the well used stuff was over half the price of a new one so they just paid the difference to get new.

Having an older MH I can see a pop up could have less headaches and costs associated with them.

Ft AP Hill is were my son will be by this time tomorrow for two weeks. They left Russelville at 6 AM today. I have never seen anything that got him as excited when he learned about just before leaving the Cub Scouts a couple years ago. He had to push to make 1st Class but got that behind him in the spring. It is a little hard on MOM, Dad and his twin sister but am certain he is not going to miss or worry about us. :D

An 80 year old man getting divorce bought the little house next door to us this past year and has had a popup with A/C parked in the driveway until last month when he sold it, but I don't know how much he got for it. It appeared to be in pretty good shape.

Huh? 80? divorcing?

Yep, that's right. I asked him how long they were married and he said, "Thirty-six years, off and on." He has a son I would guess to be at least in his mid-50s who lives within about a mile from here, so it would have to be from a previous marriage.

When he moved in, he happened to mention that "I'm not much on yard work." Talk about an understatement!!! Once this Spring when he was gone fishing for 5 days, I mowed, edged, and trimmed his foot high grass, but it recently had gotten over knee deep. So this past week, the son came over and spent two and a half days with a little string trimmer and a lawnmower and still didn't finish the job.:confused2:

I'm sure that is frustrating to you to have his yard next to your well kept lawn.

That's true. In the first two suburbs northwest of Dallas (Farmers Branch and Carrollton), we were limited to 10 gallons, so I could get 10 gallons at one station, go a block or two down the street and get another 10 gallons. But that summer, we made a trip to West Virginia in that little motorhome and I was wondering how much trouble we'd have getting gas on I-30, I-40, and I-81 through Arkansas, Tennessee, and Virginia, and we never had a problem at all. We didn't find a single station with any restrictions.

One of the loopholes on gas ration restrictions was farms. Our truck had farm plates on it so we were allowed to fill it and any cans we brought with us. Still remember the dirty looks from people on vacation wondering why we got to fill up and they couldn't get enough to fill their boat.

We bought a used travel trailer last year. Great time to buy. We sold our old one as well, and apparently it was a great time to sell because the guy had to have it so we got the asking price.

I hope we never get into supply issues when out in the MH. Talking about hurting the "hurting" RV sales.

As a rule I top off when we get to where we are going so should an emergency develop back at home/office we could drive through without a gas stop. Our range is normally 350 miles but it takes 10 minutes to get that last 10 gallons into the tank.

Yeah, I thought that too. But it takes all kinds. One of my neighbor's got divorced, moved in her boyfriend, then married him. 30 years later, her ex husband moves in with her and her current husband. They are all in their 60's. Apparently they all get on real well. Money is not an issue. And she has kids by both guys. And grandkids. Family holidays must be interesting..... And these folks have known each other all their lives, it's a small town.
