Hi Guys,

thanks for your replies, i changed the design a bit again and integrated a 10 by 60mm (about 3/8 by 2 1/2 inch) flat steel to reinforce the square tube.

I think i will start fabricating the blade end of may. Of course i'll supply you with plenty of pics!

Hey,

time went past, plans changed, tractors changed.

The project box blade got canceled. Instead i made a land pane, based on a design from an New Zealand Engineer. I thought it would be easier to use and still suit to my conditions. It was made very easy within day and a half, basically from 140 and 160mm construction steel.

The back is made from 160mm i steel, the sides from 140mm one. The front is a 6mm steel plate, reinforced with an 50mm U steel and an 40mm angle iron. On the bottom it has an 12x110mm cutting edge. Here's a pic from last year, i'll drop in a few more soon.

That's an interesting attachment. I've never seen anything like it. Although my experience is limited. I hope you post some pictures showing it in action.

Spreading top soil, ripper shanks folded up. Just started spreading the dirt, looked much smoother after i did a few finishing passes.

That's an interesting design indeed. I wonder how it compares to a more widely found tandem diagonal blade land plane grader scrapers? I've never seen a land plane used to level rough ground like the Newman is in the fields.
