I sure liked the looks of that drisuit one and was thinking about giving it a try. I liked the fact that you didn't have to open up any rubber flaps for the ear phones

I have both the Defender and the Lifeproof.

I use the Defender 90% of the time. If I'm headed out on a boat or going to be around a pool, I switch to the Lifeproof.

I don't use the Lifeproof all of the time because the headphone connection and the dock connection don't work well with non-apple accessories. My truck dock cord doesn't fit into the Lifeproof.

The Lifeproof is lower profile.

The rubber cover on the Defender for the 4 and 4s is not as durable as the one that I had on the 3 series of iPhone.

Since you are going to most likely use the phone in your shop and around your equipment, don't get fancy and get anything but the black color in the Defender. I got the gray one and it gets pretty dirty looking.

Well my Lifeproof came in the mail Saturday. So I went ahead yesterday and got myself the 4s. Give me a few days and I'll let everyone know how I like it.

Note that if you have an iPhone 4 There is a class action settlement that will get you $15 towards a case or whatever.

That is correct but not the 4s.

I have had an iPhone with a Realtree camo Otterbox Defender since October. IPhone still looks brand new under the case. The case is almost fallen apart, but I've been rough on it, and would be pleased with any that still protect the phone agter this long. I work in HVAC. Work on many farms. Get the rookie jobs at the fire department. And play harder than most other people i know with iPhones. However, I will be getting a Lifeproof next. It should be about as tough, but also waterproof. We will see how that goes.

Well I've had my iPhone and Lifeproof for a couple of weeks now so I thought I'd share my experience thus far.

I really like the case, I have dropped it into a pitcher of beer (just to prove a point) and listen to music in the shower.

It has been covered in clay mud, cow doo, hydraulic fluid and everything else.

I will no longer need to put my phone in a Ziplock bag when we ride four wheelers.

I did get some odd looks in town when I washed it in a sink and dried it with the electric hand dryer.

I have had one issue with the case which is cosmetic in nature but after a five minute phone call a free replacement is on the way.

I would recommend this case to anyone who works, lives or plays outdoors.
