I found a 6' piece of cutting board in the dumpster behind a restaurant, I'll be trying that out this winter.

I spotted a small section at the local TSC store here for 20 bucks.. I pondered what i could use it for. I think it was 5x5 or so. not full size..

Some here use drive belt from TSC or similar, some use cut up stall mat material. I cut up a tire and used the tread section for my rear blade & it works pretty well for the past 2 years. Bolted it between the moldboard & cutting edge. I'd suggest you avoid the steel belted tires if you decide to go this route. You will lose the ability to really scrape ice up with it, but it sounds like that is less a concern than damaging your new drive.

Hello, I know it's a little late to ask as it's been more than 10 years. But why would steel belt tyres will not work. And what others should we use? Waiting
