RTV900 front axle differences?

I have a 2004 RTV900 and just snapped a front axle. Let's NOT talk about how much Kubota wants for the replacement.

What's vexing me is that the after-market people have dropped their early model replacements and now just carry from 2009 and on. What's the difference? It would seem odd/lame to drop support for a product when that series is more likely to need support.

I already know that the driver/passenger axles are the same. What I need to know is the fit difference between early model axles (2004) and the 2009-2011 axles.

What I learned:
1) A lot of product is stuck on ships waiting to unload at the port in LA/LB. I can't afford to wait.

2) Found a great rebuild kit online here: 2003-2008 Kubota RTV 900 Front Outboard CV Joint Kit

I expect to have my RVT rolling by Friday morning for a fifth of the cost of a new axle from Kubota.
