Kubota BX1870
New Kubota owner - Just picked up a BX1870, and an RTV-X900. I've been going over the RTV had noticed that there's some "extra" connectors in various places - presumably for factory options that my unit doesn't have. I'd love to know what these are for, and perhaps use them to facilitate future upgrades.

We ordered it with the VC5080 multiple accessory wiring harness, since we needed one of the harness options for the windshield wiper, and figured that leaving room for future upgrades made sense for the minimal cost difference. It looks like that option is basically the underhood fuse box, and perhaps the 4-switch panel?

Seems pretty straight forward - spare spade connectors, and add the appropriate fuse. I like that it includes the ground. It actually took me some time to notice this, since it's cleverly hidden in a velcro/vinyl "bag".

The first unknown connectors (A & B) are at the rear, near the transmission.

Connector "C" is under the hood:

"D" and "E" are also underhood:

"F" is tucked up by the front radiator grille.

I don't have any of the aux hydraulic control options or anything.

Thanks in advance for any pointers!

I know the harness is installed for a speedometer. Connections close to the transmission, and at the instrument cluster. Harness for auxiliary lights. Some more that has slipped my mind at the moment.

I'm surprised the would wire for a speedo - this is a 2014 X-series so it has a digital Speedo built into the electronic dash already...

I'd love to be able to use pre-existing wiring to cleanly install some extra lights at some point. Guessing a workshop manual is the best investment?

Whoops I didn't see the X in front of the 900. You are right they do have a speedo. So I have to plead ignorance on the subject. One suggestion is get into the parts manual and run through the options and see which ones might need a wiring harness.

I too, have just picked up a new RTV-X900 and am wondering what the connectors are for. The ones in the rear are "hot" all the time as far as I can tell. I only did a quick look with my meter, and need to go back and check some more. I thought one would be for the optional back-up beeper, but it is not controlled by the shift lever going into reverse. I'd like to find a schematic of the entire machine. I'll post a link if I find one.
I hope to put in a pair of back-up lights and would like to use an existing harness - I can't imagine Kubota making different wiring harnesses for machines ordered with and without a beeper.

My RTV 400 has a long list of electrical options listed in the operators manual. Backup alarm, several light kits, strobe, speedo, ect. I would look there and see if you can guess the intended purpose. They put the wires there for some purpose.

The wires ( connections) by the back of the transmission are "hot" when the key switch is on. The reverse gear does not affect either of the connectors.

Apologies in advance if posting links to other forums is frowned upon here - but I did just stumble across some wiring diagrams posted over on NetTractorTalk.

RTV Wiring Diagrams - Net Tractor Talk

No clue how accurate these are - they're for an RTV-1100 - I'd hope that kubota keeps wiring somewhat consistent, but never know...

Thanks TravisD! I will try to print them up and study them. I am sure it will be helpful.
