Sorry if this has been addressed - I did search.

I am considering the RTV 900 for use arround my small ranch. There are some features that would "enable" me to fork over the big bucks for this thing.

Anybody have ANY experience with the hydro tools???? I live in Central Oregon where it is fairly rocky soil. I would like to get the t-post hammer, water pump and the jackhammer. I could use the pump to recycle my tail water pond back into the system. I would also like to use the hydro hammer to create post holes for my 6"/8" posts. Some places here are so bad I have to hire a rock hammer - backhoe mounted - to punch the holes. Anybody have experience using the tools? Any idea on pricing?

Thanks and happy Friday.

I was looking at the RTV for just this reason but if I recall the tools are very expensive for this setup. The water pump I would imagine would be much cheaper to buy a gas powered unit and not have to rely on the RTV as a power source. The disadvantage is you have another motor to maintain but you put it in the RTV, go to where you want it, drop it off and go abouts busting holes in the ground for post.

I asked a similar question in this thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/atvs-utility-vehicles/95404-hydraulic-accessories-rtv.html

Are there other places that you can buy hydro tools cheaper? Seems like they would be reliable and work well. But the kubota products are wayyy overpriced.

There are other companies but hydraulic tools are not cheap regardless of who makes them. Here is one link that was posted in the other thread.

Yikes - they are expensive. Perhaps I should re-think this.

Have priced these out and although the tools are very well built they all start at $1000 range and go up in to the $2000 range from the Kubota price list. Have purchased a very good chainsaw, pole pruner and post hole digger for prices well below half to a quarter of what they want. About the only thing that could interest me would be post driver or maybe the breaker. The dealer in Tangent has many of these on display and lifting the post driver up to drive a 6 foot t post is not easy. Would want to try these out before purchase and you must remember you still are connected to the RTV by the hoses that are bulky to drag around. I know some people do not like the extra engines to take care of but go out and price an Echo Power Pruner a good Sthil chainsaw and a Honda trash pump and they are cheap compared to some of the tools

I've demo'ed a few of them. The stuff works really well. It is expensive, its all built by Stanley and just marketed though Kubota. Certian items like the concrete saw and post pounder seemed like they would be great for the right people, I don't see real need for the chainsaw and pump though.

Anyone try the post pounders(drivers)?
How effective are they?
Thanks.

I used it, It drove a stake though asphalt with no problem. I was pretty impressed.
Was it a Kubota you were connected to?
Or a small tractor?
Does the engine need to be at high RPM?
Thanks.
