I know what you mean about those Sportsmans! Scary.

The Ranger 6x6, however, 1) has an engine brake, and 2) always has at least the rear 4 wheels engaged.

This thing is sure-footed like a goat!

We went and tried and RTV 1100, a JD HPX, and a JD XUV. Neither of us liked how the Kubota drove. The hydrostatic transmission we found very difficult to control, and we have a compact tractor and two garder tractors with hydrostatic transmissions, so we are both very familiar with how they operate, the braking effect, etc. Still, we both found the RTV nearly undrivable.

The JD Gators, on the other hand, we both really liked. Smoother, more comfortable, and easier to control.

This is exactly the opppsite of what I was expecting, and I appreciate the advice a number of you gave about going and trying them first hand.

hayden,

Well, there is your answer . Buy a John Deere
As you know, everybody is different. If God wanted us the same, he would have cloned us ....

You did the right thing, test firing machines is the only & best way to satisfy a mans mind. John Deere makes some great machines. We run them on the farms & plantations everyday, & they are dependable units....
It's your money, please spend it on exactly what YOU want, and what will make your work & play more enjoyable.....
