I was a few hours further north in Winchester, Mon-Wed.
It's hard to get a feel for the area when you are in meetings most of the day .

Yeah...true, but this is definitely an area I want to visit again. I don't think my wife has ever been on the Skyline Drive (and I was a kid last time I was cruising that road).

Yep...got my induction notice ("Greetings! You are hereby ordered to report...") in May, 1969...went right to the Navy recruiter and enlisted. Re-upped in 1973 (off the coast of Vietnam) and stayed another 5 years. After active duty, I was in the active reserve for about 5 years.
I really loved the Navy and going to sea. I have always regretted not doing 20 years (since I had about 13 when I left).

Well, back in PA now. Job in Virginia is done. Drove up I-81 on Sunday morning....what a pretty area that is!! Now, I'm looking for a job in that area.

Good luck finding something in the Shenandoah Valley! It really is nice out there... Lots of bird farmers went out of business several years back when the avain flu came to town. Millions of chickens and turkeys were executed (if even 1 bird was infected, the whole operation was shut down). Cleaning the feeding and conveyor systems cost more than buying them new, so operations just shut down. Lots of money lost...
