Hi All,

A neighbor asked me if id be interested in rototilling the acres for the new tenant.

Neither my neighbor or I know the going rate for such service. Any suggestions on what to charge?

I've got a 48" rototiller so it'll take me a while

Pre-2020 tiller rates in my region is $50 a 1/2-acre. This is with a 20-38Hp tractor and a 6FT tiller.

A smaller tiller and smaller tractor can do it, but it's more about land coverage and size, not time based.

Since it was prior tilled, then the above is good. Fresh ground breaking of a new plot is nearly double. You never know about rocks and roots of evil.

2 acres with a 48" tiller on a Kubota B "garden" tractor would be a mighty big job. You may need a back brace, jug of water and an extra seat cushion. ;)

Have fun. We all like the smell of freshly turned soil.

Agreed...I've got an MF 20 now, so plenty of HP...but there'd be about 1' of overlap with the tire, which wouldn't be ideal.
