I just paid $360 for 8-1 gal and a 2.5 gal t6. Sounds lik a lot but the crap is hit or miss around here and if i find it I buy it all out.
Iwas at a local Sam's club and found a shelf full of 5/40 T6 in 3 gallon cases for $75.00--- $25. a gallon; didn't buy any as have 8 gallons on the shelf at home. Tractor holds less then 2 gallons at oil changeI just paid $360 for 8-1 gal and a 2.5 gal t6. Sounds lik a lot but the crap is hit or miss around here and if i find it I buy it all out.
I should change my comment from 'I like' to works well for me and according to Blackstone who does my oil analysis, it's working well as well. My TBN is always well within range when renewing the oil.Could be. I look at the API and JASO ratings on the jugs more than anything else. I like using JASO MA oil actually.
I don’t know how similar they are; I just know the Valvoline synthetic is a high quality diesel oil. It wouldn’t be recommended by Cummins if it wasn’t high quality.jyoutz I read that T6 and the Valvoline are
the one and same in quality and when I
run out of T6 will differently be using Valvoline
Running around looking for T6 is a waste
time and money!

Thanks Willy. Very interesting. They each have aspects where they excel, but overall both are very good.jyoutz here is what I read:

Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme vs Shell Rotella T6 | CompareMotorOils
Both of the engine oils are specially formulated for heavy-duty diesel engines. They are made from superior synthetic base stock (group IV) and advancedcomparemotoroils.com
Also reg gas was $2.72
diesel is $4.25 to $5.25

Rotella T-6 was difficult to get around here for a while.
But the local Wal mart and auto parts stores have full shelves of it now.
Though it is $26/gal now at Walmart and I was paying $21/gal
