Hi, I am looking for a thread where someone built their own chain guard for a rotary mower. I can't seem to find it in the search. I am looking for chains and not flaps.

Thanks!

I built my own, twice; once for a 48" Bush Hog and once for a 60" Howse, but I don't know that I could find the threads now.

Tim, just enter "chain guards" in the search field and you'll find a lot of threads, including this one, that might help.

Thanks Bird. I ended up restricting the search to build it yourself and dug up some old threads. Here's what I found, (some really neat stuff!):

I bought some 3/8 rienforced rubber. Cut it into about 6" strips and bolted it on. Works great. Nothing flies out. It all stays inside until it hits the groung. The rubber was cheap from a company that sells v-belts locally.
