ROTARY CUTTER STRUTS

/ ROTARY CUTTER STRUTS #21
Have any of y'all that are having problems with chaff out the front tried raising the rear of the cutter or lowering the front a little more? My little 5' Howse had that problem when I first started using it, and I quickly learned that if I raised the back end about 1-2 inches higher than the front, it channeled the stuff out the back a lot better. I also learned that if you raise the rear too much it looks goofy and will throw more stuff out the front, since the blades will be angled WAY too much. :D

BTW, I agree on the chain idea. I'll be replacing my bars with chain soon, since I can tell that the top link hole on the cutter is getting "wallered" out due to the slot not offering enough room and the bars not flexing enough. Seems like a poor design to me, but easy enough to fix.

Rear slightly higher than the front is just plain good practice in most cases.. reguardless of chaff or not. less hp needed to cut...... vs cutting 2x with front higher..
