Great! I suggest we cut his salary from this end as TBN will be paying big bucks. bw

WHAT? We been payin him a salary? I didn't know he was a politician, naw, he couldn't be a politician, he's too honest.

Roger has been strangely silent on all this. I always suspected his real name was Muhammid.

I think he gets on in the rocky mountain morning.

Guys, I'm deeply and politically honored....Yadda, yadda, ya.... This feels suspiciously like being the last guy left holding the check at the bar. Besides, as far as I can see we've never needed a moderator even if I did know what one did.
So.... if elected, I promise to do darn near nothing....I'm just tickled to be here kicking the tires with my friends.

Hey Roger,
I just looked at your user profile, are you Roger L from the Compact Tractor Board ?

Yep. That's me. I grew up in the rural South and have one of those double first names that are kinda common down there. People call me by one, the other, or both... Not surprisingly, I'll answer to just about anything.

Roger, you can tell us, how did you get this highly coveted position?
Were you the only guy not present at the meeting when the moderator got elected?
Does this new lofty status allow you to moderate our consumption of liquified grain products?
This term moderate brings up all sorts of questions.

   / Roger_Scotty Promoted #11
Frantz, I'll certainly share what I know. No, I didn't apply for the position. What happened is that right after we moved the club over here I got an email from Muhammad saying that he planned to appoint me as "moderator" just as soon as he got the new code written - and asking if that was OK with me. I said I'd be honored, then promptly forgot about it and figured that he had too. So I honestly don't know why.... and still don't have the slightest idea what a moderator moderates. Hopefully I'm not supposed to moderate the length of my replies, because that sure won't work!
But your idea of being a consumption moderator has real appeal. The way I see it working is that for every liquified grain product that you imbibe you also hand one to me and I'll sort of "guard" them for you.....moderately well, anyway.

Roger, your moderation plan on liquid grain product works for me, especially since I've heard you played Center, Guard and Tackle on your high school football team.
Only one little problem I see with the plan, you're in Colorado and I'm in New York. That's gonna make the handoff a bit difficult.
If they ever plan on moderating the length of either of our replys, there will be serious problems.

Scotty,
I noticed that Muhammad sometimes removes bad language, eliminates useless arguments or locks them when more than enough has been said and moves posts to their proper place when they are mis-posted. Seems like he generally tries to keep things organized and civil.

Send a message to Muhammad and ask for his moderator's guidelines. I know there is a special set of instructions...

Roger,

I sent you a PM with the information/document... did you receive it? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I'll just send it again...

   / Roger_Scotty Promoted #16
Best send it again. Either lost in cyberspace or I may have been too quick on the delete button.

Er.....Does this mean that I have more homework to do?

Roger_(now realizing that I signed up for "almost enough" classes this Spring...and old enough to know better)_ Scotty

Could someone refresh my memory, I never heard of a moderation plan including liquid grain products. In past posts I seem to remember something about a front loader full of twinkies as some sort of compensation.

   / Roger_Scotty Promoted #18
Naw, you're confusing the bucket full of twinkies with the big discussion over wether it would be better to use a PTO hydraulic pump, or a PTO sprayer pump to moderate elbow damage from heavy drinking, by eliminating tha heavy lifting. Then, there was another discussion about switching to light beer to determine if that would moderate elbow damage from the lifting involved in heavy drinking.
As I recollect, the whole thing was referred to a study group of volunteers, and we haven't heard back from any of them as of yet.
You might have gotten confused around the time somebody had that beer barrel fall on top of them from the loader bucket during one of the study sessions, but I think that was a Kubota.
