I have a 1,000' Driveway.Been spraying to kill middle grass for last two years but grass always comes back heavier than before. Been useing Pramitol 25E at App #35.00 per gal. I dont want to box drag if i dont have to there pleantly of gravel on the drive just looks like a mohawk:

Spray with roundup after the grass dies. Spray Sure Guard this will help keep the grass from coming back for a couple months.

Depending on how the crown is on your driveway, I'd leave grass alone. After all it holds the gravel from washing away and keeps crown there so water can't collect and cause potholes.

What do you think?

I like the look of grass in the middle. I only have a short drive and it has grass in the middle. I tried to beat the grass for years and finally just joined it and let it grow. Only draw back is having to mow, used to mow down one side then back while mowing the other side. That 3rd row of mowing leaves you at the end of the drive with nothing to mow on the way back! I believe its still easier than fighting the grass.

even though I hate grading roads with grass growing in the middle, I agree with you 100% and love the look of the grass up the middle of the drive.

If your driveway is wide enough, you can drive with one wheel on the grassy middle. Doing it often will keep the grass down.

I also would leave the grass for stabilization of the drive if is sloped at all.

If you still want to kill it, you might need to know what kind of grass it is. Oust XP is a good one that will provide residual control of many grasses for quite some time. You will need a herbicide that provides residual control versus just killing actively growing plant tissue (roundup, etc)
